Your game plan for this job

0 of 5 done

Most people just hit Apply. Do these first and you show up with someone on the inside.

  1. 1
    Pick 2–3 people at Conversion
We haven't found reps here yet. Search LinkedIn for "sales development Conversion".
  2. 2
    Send a short, curious note
Ask about their experience, not for a referral. We write it for you, with the role and what Conversion sells.
  3. 3
    Have a 15-minute chat
    Good questions for this role:
    • What does a normal day look like for you?
    • How did you land the job? What stood out in your interviews?
    • The posting mentions HubSpot, Marketo. How much of your day is in those tools?
    • How is the team doing on quota? What separates the people who hit it?
  4. 4
    Apply, ideally with a referral
If the chat went well, ask if they'd refer you or point you to the hiring manager. Then apply and let them know so they can flag it.
  5. 5
    Prep for the role play
SDR interviews almost always end in a mock cold call. Practice with the Conversion cheat sheet and the role-play guide.

Talk to someone at Conversion before you apply

A friendly message to a current rep is the best way to stand out. Ask about their experience, not for a referral.

We haven't confirmed any current SDRs or AEs at Conversion yet. Try LinkedIn search: "sales development" + "Conversion".

Full job description

About Us

Conversion is the agentic marketing automation platform for modern enterprises such as Plaid, ClickHouse, Webflow, and Productboard. Our platform lets growth teams run their entire go-to-market motion in one place, from acquisition through retention, with AI agents doing the work that legacy tools like Marketo, HubSpot, and Pardot can't.

We've raised $28M+ from Abstract Ventures, True Ventures, and HOF Capital. The team is based in San Francisco and includes engineers, designers, and operators from Airbnb, Palantir, Pinterest, IMC, Shopify, LinkedIn, and Microsoft.

About the Role

Hey there! Neil here 👋, co-founder and CEO at Conversion. I lead our enterprise sales motion, and wanted to share my thoughts on the perfect candidate we're looking for to be one our Founding Solution Engineers.

So what exactly is a Solutions Engineer? At Conversion, they partner with Enterprise Account Executives to win enterprise deals. A $100k+ deal does not close on a compelling pitch alone. Customers need to see how Conversion will solve their challenges, work with their data, and fit into their existing systems. Solutions Engineers make that case through technical expertise and working demonstrations.

Technical discovery and selling:

Working alongside Enterprise AEs to understand customer goals, uncover technical requirements, and demonstrate how Conversion can address their most valuable use cases.

Custom demos and proof-of-concepts:

Building tailored demos and executing proof-of-concepts that bring the customer’s workflows to life, demonstrate measurable value, and give technical buyers confidence in Conversion.

Solution architecture:

Partnering with customer data, IT, and security teams to design how Conversion would fit into their existing systems, addressing integrations, data flows, security requirements, and technical feasibility.

Driving deals to close:

Owning the technical side of the sales process, resolving technical objections, navigating security reviews, and aligning stakeholders on a clear path to deployment with Deployment Strategists and Forward Deployed Engineers.

This role is in-person 5 days/week in

San Francisco

.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

Have experience in GTM or sales at a B2B organization

Have studied or worked in software engineering, but found that interfacing with customers is much more exciting than writing code all day
