Who We Are
At Apptegy, we are more than a tech company; we are partners dedicated to transforming how schools communicate and shape the future of education. Your work here will directly empower districts to share their stories, engage their communities, and celebrate student success. We're a team of thoughtful, high-performing individuals committed to making a tangible impact. If you're looking for a dynamic environment where you'll be supported with exceptional mentorship and resources to grow your career, come build with us.
The Role
As a Sales Development Representative at Apptegy, you will create meaningful connections between school leaders and our team. You’ll own high volume, multichannel prospecting across phone, email, video, and conferences, as well as research target accounts to build a healthy pipeline for the sales team.
You’ll also be excited to embrace AI as a powerful prospecting partner, using it to uncover insights, sharpen account strategies, personalize outreach, and work smarter.
You will work closely with your manager, teammates, and Account Executives to build interest, schedule qualified demos, share prospect insights, and help advance opportunities in your territory.
We’re looking for someone who brings curiosity, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to prospecting. You’ll have room to experiment with new ideas, learn quickly, and use feedback to continuously sharpen your approach.
Many of our Sales Development Representatives joined Apptegy without prior sales experience, so if you’re ready for a challenge and excited to grow, we encourage you to apply!
What You’ll Do
- Execute high-volume, multi-channel prospecting through cold calls, email, and conferences, including approximately 80 dials per day and potentially travel to conferences 1–2 times per month.
- Research accounts, identify pain points and root causes, and determine what will compel a prospect to engage and meet with Apptegy using proven frameworks.
- Generate qualified leads and healthy pipeline while consistently working toward meeting and exceeding quarterly quotas through disciplined execution and personal accountability.
- Partner closely with Account Executives in assigned territories, sharing prospect intelligence and helping advance opportunities.
- Use AI thoughtfully and responsibly to improve account research, personalization, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Participate actively in call reviews, drills, and coaching; apply feedback quickly, test creative approaches, and adapt based on prospect responses.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with prospects, teammates, Account Executives, and cross-functional partners while contributing to a high-performing team.
What You’ll Bring
- A four-year college degree or comparable continuous work experience with an impressive track record of success.
- Hunger to grow your career and interest in building a long-term career in sales.
- Motivation to work in an intense, high-accountability sales environment and take ownership of your success.
- Excitement for ambitious goals and motivation to meet or exceed quarterly quotas.
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and cross-functional partners.
- Curiosity and problem-solving ability, with an interest in understanding what matters to a prospect and why they should meet with us.
- Coachability, resilience, and a willingness to apply feedback quickly, challenge yourself, and consistently raise your own bar.
- Experience in outbound prospecting, sales development, customer-facing work, or another high-accountability environment is helpful, but not required.
