Most people just hit Apply. Do these first and you show up with someone on the inside.

  1. 1
    Pick 2–3 people at Interfere
We haven't found reps here yet. Search LinkedIn for "sales development Interfere".
  2. 2
    Send a short, curious note
Ask about their experience, not for a referral. We write it for you, with the role and what Interfere sells.
  3. 3
    Have a 15-minute chat
    Good questions for this role:
    • What does a normal day look like for you?
    • How did you land the job? What stood out in your interviews?
    • The role is mostly outbound. How much is calling vs. email vs. LinkedIn?
    • How is the team doing on quota? What separates the people who hit it?
  4. 4
    Apply, ideally with a referral
If the chat went well, ask if they'd refer you or point you to the hiring manager. Then apply and let them know so they can flag it.
  5. 5
    Prep for the role play
SDR interviews almost always end in a mock cold call. Practice with the Interfere cheat sheet and the role-play guide.

Talk to someone at Interfere before you apply

A friendly message to a current rep is the best way to stand out. Ask about their experience, not for a referral.

We haven't confirmed any current SDRs or AEs at Interfere yet. Try LinkedIn search: "sales development" + "Interfere".

Full job description

Founding Business Development Representative (BDR)

About Interfere

Interfere is building the self-healing layer of the internet: software that detects broken product experiences, understands what caused them, and helps teams fix them before users notice.

Modern teams have logs, dashboards, traces, and session replay. They still find out about too many problems from their users. We exist to close that gap for engineers, PMs, designers, and founders who care how their product actually works in the real world.

The product surface is large. The category is still being defined. The people who join now will help shape how the company grows.

We've raised $5.1M from Y Combinator, Vercel Ventures, Hummingbird, Designer Fund, and others. We're in person in New York City.

The Opportunity

We're hiring our founding BDR to build outbound at Interfere from the ground up. You'll be our first dedicated outbound hire, with real ownership over how we generate pipeline, what we test, and how we build a function that can scale well beyond one person.

This is a hands-on role. You'll spend your days researching accounts, prospecting, writing outreach, following up, and booking meetings. You'll work directly with our Head of Strategy and Growth, with significant autonomy over how you operate. We want someone who brings ideas, moves quickly, and takes responsibility for making outbound better every week.

The systems you build and the lessons you learn will shape how we hire and scale the team from here. You'll get exposure to the full sales process, see how deals get done, and have the opportunity to take on significantly more responsibility as Interfere grows. For someone genuinely ambitious and early in their career, there's a lot of room to run.

What You'll Do

Generate pipeline.

Research target companies, identify decision-makers, build prospect lists, write outreach, run campaigns across email, LinkedIn, phone, socials, and other channels, and consistently generate qualified meetings.

Figure out what works.

Test targeting, messaging and channels, track what's converting, and iterate quickly. Double down on what works and change what doesn't.

Build the outbound function.

Develop the sequences, workflows, prospecting processes, reporting and systems needed to make outbound repeatable. Use AI and automation wherever they can meaningfully improve our output.

Understand our customers.

Learn Interfere's product and the problems we're solving. Understand what matters to CTOs and engineering leaders, and use that understanding to make outreach more relevant and effective.

We expect you to bring proven experience, learn fast, take ownership, and continuously improve how we operate. We're not looking for someone who needs a playbook - we're looking for someone who can help build one.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who's already proven they can succeed as a BDR and is ready for significantly more ownership.

You know how to generate pipeline.

Ideally 1–3 years in an outbound-focused BDR/SDR role at a B2B SaaS company, preferably selling developer tools or into engineering teams. You have a proven track record of generating qualified pipeline, know what good looks like, and can hit the ground running.

Sharp, personable, and commercially aware.

You can get your head around a technical product quickly, communicate clearly, and hold credible conversations with senior engineering leaders. Strong judgment matters as much as raw intelligence.

You want more than another BDR job.

You're willing to put in the repetitive work, handle rejection, and keep pushing when things aren't working. You're competitive, genuinely ambitious, driven to deliver results, and motivated to progress quickly in your career.

You figure things out.

You don't wait to be told what to do every day. When something isn't working, you identify the problem, try alternatives and learn from the results. You're comfortable operating without a fully established playbook.

You want to build something that lasts.

You care about building better processes, improving conversion, and finding ways to make the operation more effective. If something works, you want to understand why and figure out how to repeat it.

Compensation & Benefits

$60,000 - $70,000 base salary + $30,000 target commission ($90,000 - $100,000 OTE)

Equity compensation

Direct exposure to leadership and the full sales process

Significant ownership over how our outbound function is built and operated

Opportunity for accelerated career progression and increasing responsibility as Interfere grows

You'll be joining early, doing real work from day one, and helping build a function that could become a major part of how Interfere grows.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Experience: Any (new grads ok) Visa: US citizen/visa only
