Business Development Representative - Atlanta

Salesforce · Sales & marketing tech
Hybrid: Atlanta, GA
SDR / BDREntry-level friendly

Opens the job on Salesforce's own careers site. Some companies ask you to create an account or click through another page first.

It asks for 1+ year of experience. Apply anyway.

SDR and BDR jobs are entry-level seats, and the requirements are usually a wish list. Customer-facing work (retail, serving, teaching, recruiting, sports) counts. Your best move is to message one of the insiders below before you apply.

Your game plan for this job

0 of 5 done

Most people just hit Apply. Do these first and you show up with someone on the inside.

  1. 1
    Pick 2–3 people at Salesforce
We found 149 current reps: 81 SDRs, 59 AEs, 9 SDR managers, 13 living near this job. SDRs reply the most; they were in your shoes recently. See them ↓
  2. 2
    Send a short, curious note
Ask about their experience, not for a referral. We write it for you, with the role and what Salesforce sells.
  3. 3
    Have a 15-minute chat
    Good questions for this role:
    • What does a normal day look like for you?
    • How did you land the job? What stood out in your interviews?
    • How is the team doing on quota? What separates the people who hit it?
    • How long do SDRs usually stay before moving up to AE?
  4. 4
    Apply, ideally with a referral
If the chat went well, ask if they'd refer you or point you to the hiring manager. Then apply and let them know so they can flag it.
  5. 5
    Prep for the role play
SDR interviews almost always end in a mock cold call. Practice with the Salesforce cheat sheet and the role-play guide.

Talk to someone at Salesforce before you apply

A friendly message to a current rep is the best way to stand out. Ask about their experience, not for a referral.

  • Partner with account teams to identify and source pipeline by researching lines of business, personas, and key decision makers
  • Manage and nurture inbound leads and early-stage opportunities driven by outbound efforts
  • Participate in an intensive sales training program designed to build the foundational skills needed for a long-term career in sales

You're Our Person If...

  • Experience with outbound prospecting, cold calling, and account research across a mix of new and existing accounts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage decision makers at multiple levels
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding goals and metrics

Even Better If...

  • 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field
  • Experience with account planning and working a hybrid list of net-new and existing install accounts
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools

Unleash Your Potential

When you join Salesforce, you’ll be limitless in all areas of your life. Our benefits and resources support you to find balance and be your best, and our AI agents accelerate your impact so you can do your best. Together, we’ll bring the power of Agentforce to organizations of all sizes and deliver amazing experiences that customers love. Apply today to not only shape the future — but to redefine what’s possible — for yourself, for AI, and the world.
