Opens the job on Grotto's own careers site. Some companies ask you to create an account or click through another page first.
What you'd actually do: Cold call, email and LinkedIn apartment owners and operators to book qualified first meetings for AEs selling AI coaching software for leasing agents.
Most people just hit Apply. Do these first and you show up with someone on the inside.
A friendly message to a current rep is the best way to stand out. Ask about their experience, not for a referral.
Grotto's mission is to help humans shine in life's most important moments. To do this, we're building the performance layer for frontline work.
We're starting in housing, where our AI coaching & intelligence guides leasing agents in real time during tours and calls, driving results that show up in our customers' bottom line. It's AI that supercharges people instead of replacing them. Some info on us:
$10M seed led by ICONIQ, one of the firm's earliest checks ever.
Best-in-class revenue growth for vertical AI.
Customers include top-10 largest apartment owners, developers and managers.
Led by a team of vertical AI veterans.
Team in New York, in office.
You are one of Grotto's earliest BDRs, and you'll report directly to seasoned enterprise sellers. You'll get to write the playbook for AI-native business development in a way that's aligned with our humans-first ethos (emphasizing creative, human-to-human outreach).
Own outbound. Build and run targeted outreach across phone, email and LinkedIn to open first conversations with owners, operators and asset managers.
Qualify hard. Run structured discovery and judge fit against our ICP. We would rather you disqualify fast than pad the calendar.
Nurture. Follow up with something worth reading and a clear next step.
Hand off clean. Partner with our AEs so nothing drops between the first conversation and the deal.
Keep the pipeline honest and log activity and notes accurately in our CRM.
Surface market insight. You hear the objections before anyone else, and you bring them back so we sharpen messaging and targeting.
Work the conferences. Multifamily runs on events. Engage leads before and after so they turn into real pipeline.
Get 10x as much done as you could have before AI.
Earn the AE seat.
Hunger: you want to be first-in and last-out, learning the ropes of one of life's most important skills: selling.
A love for winning. You have likely competed at a high level before, in sports or something similar.
Resilience with a short memory. You learn from losses, then shrug them off.
You've been described as charismatic, a ball of energy, or similar.
Coachable.
0 to 2 years of experience.
