Discovery questions to ask
- How do you back up your data today, and where does it live (on-site, cloud, SaaS apps)?
- When did you last test a full restore, and how long did it take?
- What would an hour of downtime cost your business?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ No problem, I'll keep it short. Can I ask one quick question about how you restore data, and then you can tell me if it's worth a longer chat?
“We're not interested.”
→ Fair enough. Are you confident your backups would restore cleanly after a ransomware attack, or is that something you haven't tested lately?
“We already have a backup solution.”
→ That's good to hear, backup is a must. How long would a full restore take, and have you tested it recently?
“Send me an email.”
→ Sure thing. So it's relevant, are most of your systems on-site, in the cloud, or a mix?
