Valsoft Corporation role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
Variphy sells reporting and analytics software that shows how phones and calling systems are used across Cisco, Webex, Teams and Zoom.
Who you'd be calling
IT Directors, Collaboration/UC Managers, Telecom Managers and contact center leaders at mid-size and large companies
Your opener
“Hi [Name], this is [You] from Variphy. I'm calling because we help IT teams see what's happening across their phone systems, like Cisco, Teams and Zoom, in one place. Are you the right person to talk to about call reporting?”
Problems you solve for them
- No single view of call quality and usage across Cisco, Teams, Zoom and Webex
- Hard to pull call reports and contact center numbers without manual work
- Tracking phone changes and managing dial plans is slow and error-prone
Discovery questions to ask
- Which phone or calling platforms are you running today?
- How do you pull call reports or usage numbers right now?
- When calls drop or quality dips, how long does it take to find out why?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ No problem. When is a better time for a quick 10-minute call this week?
“Not interested.”
→ Understood. Just so I know, is call reporting already handled well, or is it just not a priority right now?
“We already use the reporting that comes with our phone system.”
→ That's common. Built-in tools usually only cover one platform. Do you run more than one, like Teams plus Cisco or Zoom?
“Send me an email.”
→ Sure thing. So it's relevant, which platforms are you on, and who handles the reporting today?
Interview tips for this company
- The profile says Valsoft is a holding company but the description is about Variphy. Ask in the interview which product or brand you would be selling.
- Learn the basics: what a CDR (call detail record) is, and the difference between UC and contact center. Say them in plain words.
