Tutor Intelligence role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
AI-powered robots that handle repetitive tasks in warehouses and factories, with human help guiding the AI.
Who you'd be calling
Operations, plant and warehouse managers, supply chain and automation leads at manufacturers and logistics companies
Your opener
“Hi Pat, this is Alex from Tutor Intelligence. I know I'm calling out of the blue. We make AI robots that take over repetitive packing and handling jobs on the line. Do you have a minute to tell me where labor is toughest for you?”
Problems you solve for them
- Hard to hire and keep workers for repetitive, physical jobs
- Traditional robots take long to set up and break when products change
- Labor costs and turnover make output unpredictable
- Automation projects feel risky and costly to try
Discovery questions to ask
- Which jobs on your floor are hardest to fill or keep staffed?
- Have you tried automation or robots before? How did it go?
- How often do your products or packaging change, and how does that affect your line?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Of course, I'll be quick. I'm only curious where staffing is hardest for you. Could we do 15 minutes next week?
“We're not interested.”
→ Fair enough. Is that because robots haven't worked for you before, or labor isn't a big issue right now?
“We already have automation / use another vendor.”
→ Good to hear. Are there still manual tasks that your current equipment can't handle? I'd love to learn which ones.
“Just send me an email.”
→ Sure. What task would you most like to automate, so I send something relevant? Can I check back on Wednesday?
Interview tips for this company
- Be able to explain in one sentence why a robot that learns from humans differs from a traditional fixed-program robot. Keep it simple and honest.
- Don't promise specific savings or results. Say you'd learn their situation first, since the profile gives no numbers.
