Discovery questions to ask
- How many teams at your company are building or using AI agents right now?
- Who owns the security and oversight of those agents today?
- If an agent did something it shouldn't, how would you find out?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ No problem, I'll be quick. Can I ask one question, and if it's not relevant I'll let you go: who owns AI agent security at your company?
“We're not interested.”
→ Understood. Is that because AI agents aren't a concern yet, or because it's already covered?
“We already use something for this.”
→ That's helpful to know. Does it give you a view specifically into AI agents, or is it more general security tooling?
“Just send me an email.”
→ Sure thing. Who else on your team, like AI or compliance, should see it too?
Interview tips for this company
- This is a new category, so be able to explain 'AI agent' and 'governance' simply, like you're talking to a friend.
- Be ready for technical buyers: it's fine to say 'I'll bring in a specialist' instead of guessing.
- Show curiosity about how companies are really using AI agents today.
