GC AI role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
An AI platform that helps in-house legal teams review contracts, research, and handle everyday legal work faster.
Who you'd be calling
General Counsels, Heads of Legal, and Legal Ops leaders at mid-sized companies with small in-house legal teams.
Your opener
“Hi [Name], this is [You] from GC AI. I know I'm calling out of the blue. Do you have 30 seconds for me to tell you why I called, and then you can decide if it's worth continuing?”
Problems you solve for them
- Legal teams are small and buried in contract review and requests from other departments
- Business teams wait days for legal answers, which slows deals down
- Outside counsel is expensive for routine work
- General AI tools like ChatGPT feel risky for confidential legal documents
Discovery questions to ask
- How does your team handle contract review today, and how long does a typical contract take to turn around?
- What share of your week goes to routine requests versus bigger strategic work?
- Have you tried any AI tools in legal yet, and what held you back or worked well?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Totally get it, legal teams are always slammed. Could I grab two minutes now, or would a quick call later this week work better?
“We're not interested.”
→ Fair enough, I'm not sure I'd be either if I didn't know more. Can I ask how your team handles contract review today, just so I know whether I'm even relevant?
“We already use something for this.”
→ Good to hear you're already investing in tools. What are you using, and is there anything about it you wish worked better?
“Just send me an email.”
→ Happy to. So I send you something useful, what's the biggest time sink on your team right now?
