EarthCam role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
Jobsite cameras and an AI platform that let construction teams watch progress and capture time-lapse from anywhere.
Who you'd be calling
Project executives, VPs of operations, project managers, and marketing leads at general contractors and developers.
Your opener
“Hi Sam, this is Alex from EarthCam. I know I'm calling out of the blue. I work with construction teams who want to see their jobsites without flying out, and I'm curious how you keep an eye on yours today.”
Problems you solve for them
- Leaders can't see what's happening on site without driving there
- Disputes over who did what and when, with little proof
- Theft, vandalism, and safety issues on unattended sites
Discovery questions to ask
- How do you and your owners check on progress at your sites right now?
- When there's a schedule or delay dispute, how do you prove what happened?
- Have you had theft or security issues on a site, and how did you handle them?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Totally get it, I'll be quick. Could I ask one question about how you monitor your sites, and if it's not relevant I'll let you go?
“We're not interested.”
→ Fair enough, I'm calling cold so that makes sense. Out of curiosity, is site visibility just not a problem for you, or is it handled well already?
“We already use a camera or drone service.”
→ Good, so you already see the value of visual proof. How well is it working for you when you need documentation for a dispute or an owner update?
“Just send me an email.”
→ Happy to. So I send you something useful, what's your biggest challenge on your current projects: progress updates, disputes, or security?
