EAC Product Development Solutions role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
A PTC software reseller selling PLM and CAD tools, plus services and 3D printing, to manufacturers.
Who you'd be calling
Engineering managers, design engineers, and operations or IT leaders at small and mid-sized manufacturers.
Your opener
“Hi Sam, this is Alex from EAC Product Development Solutions. I know you're busy, so quickly: we help manufacturers manage their product designs and engineering data with tools like PTC Creo and Windchill. How does your team keep track of design changes today?”
Problems you solve for them
- Design files and product data are scattered and versions get mixed up
- Engineering changes are slow and cause costly mistakes
- Teams lack the in-house skills to set up and get value from CAD and PLM tools
Discovery questions to ask
- What CAD software does your engineering team use today, and how are design files managed?
- How does an engineering change get approved and passed on to production?
- Have you had problems with wrong versions or lost files in the past?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy.”
→ No problem, I'll be quick. When would be a better time this week for a short chat about how you handle design changes?
“Not interested.”
→ I understand. Is that because your design process is running smoothly, or because changing tools isn't on the table right now?
“We already use SolidWorks or another CAD tool.”
→ Many teams do. How do you manage the files and changes across your team, is that in the CAD tool or in shared folders?
“Send me an email.”
→ Sure. Which would be most useful: info on CAD, product data management, or 3D printing? Then I'll send you the right one.

Interview tips for this company
- Learn what CAD and PLM mean in plain English, and that EAC is a reseller, so it sells and supports PTC's products.
- Resellers often sell on local service and support, so be ready to talk about why a regional partner can matter to a manufacturer.
