- How often do the numbers not match, or you run out of stock or overbuy?
- Who spends time on manual updates, and how many hours a week is that?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ No problem, I'll be fast. I just want to know if inventory is still run out of spreadsheets for you. Could I grab 10 minutes later this week?
“Not interested.”
→ Fair enough. Is that because the current setup works well, or because switching systems sounds painful? I'd like to know if it's worth checking back.
“We already use something (Shopify, NetSuite, spreadsheets).”
→ Many of our customers did too. Does that tool keep inventory, purchasing, and finance together, or do you stitch some of it by hand?
“Just send me an email.”
→ Sure thing. What is the one thing that goes wrong most in your operations, like stockouts or late orders? I'll write the email around that.

Interview tips for this company
- Learn the basic ops words: SKU, stockout, purchase order, and reorder point. Use them simply, not to show off.
- Be ready to explain how an ERP differs from a plain inventory tool in one sentence.
