Birdeye role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
AI software that helps multi-location businesses manage reviews, show up in search, and handle customer messages.
Who you'd be calling
VP/Director of Marketing, Head of CX, or Operations leaders at multi-location brands (franchises, dealerships, clinics, retail chains).
Your opener
“Hi [Name], this is [You] from Birdeye. I know I'm calling out of the blue. Do you have 30 seconds to tell you why I called, and then you can decide if it's worth your time?”
Problems you solve for them
- Reviews and ratings differ a lot from one location to the next
- Customers message from many places and slow replies lose business
- Hard to show up in local search and AI answers across every location
Discovery questions to ask
- How do you keep track of reviews and ratings across all your locations today?
- When a customer messages or leaves a bad review at one location, who answers and how fast?
- How do you know which locations are bringing in the most calls and bookings from online search?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Totally fair, I'll be quick. Can I take 30 seconds to say why I called, and if it's not relevant, I'll let you go?
“We're not interested.”
→ No problem, most people say that before they know what we do. Can I ask one quick question about how you handle reviews across locations, and then you decide?
“We already use something for reviews.”
→ Good to hear you're on top of it. How well does it work across all your locations, and does it also handle messages and local search? If there are gaps, it may be worth a quick look.
“Just send me an email.”
→ Happy to. So I send something useful, what's the biggest headache right now: reviews, messages, or local search? Then can we pick a time to go over it for 10 minutes?

Interview tips for this company
- Learn the 'multi-location' angle: a franchise owner cares about every store, not just one.
- Look at Birdeye's Google reviews and rating before the interview, and be ready to say how reviews affect a local business's sales.
- Know the names of their AI agents (Jay, Myna, Robin), but explain in plain terms what each one does.
