Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Understood, I'll let you go. Can I call back at a better time, maybe early next week?
“We're not interested.”
→ No problem. Is proactive security already covered for you, or is your focus elsewhere right now?
“We already have security tools.”
→ I'd expect that. What do those tools catch, and where do you feel there are gaps? Would it be worth a short chat to compare?
“Send me an email.”
→ Sure thing. What would be most useful to see in it? And can we pencil in a quick call after you've looked?
Interview tips for this company
- Learn basic security words: threat, vulnerability, SOC, breach, proactive versus reactive.
- Security buyers are skeptical and get lots of calls, so be honest and short and don't fake technical depth.
- Be ready to say what 'autonomous' and 'proactive' mean in plain English, based on what their site says.
