Allium role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
Sells blockchain data infrastructure so teams can query and trace onchain data across thousands of protocols.
Who you'd be calling
Heads of data, product or engineering at fintechs, crypto firms, exchanges and financial institutions that need reliable onchain data.
Your opener
“Hi [Name], this is [You] from Allium. I know I'm calling out of the blue, got 30 seconds to tell you why I called, and then you can decide if it's worth your time?”
Problems you solve for them
- Raw blockchain data is messy and hard to clean and query
- Building and maintaining in-house data pipelines eats engineering time
- Finance and compliance teams need data they can audit and trust
Discovery questions to ask
- How does your team get blockchain data into your products or reports today?
- How much engineering time goes into cleaning and maintaining that data?
- What happens when the numbers don't match or someone asks you to prove where they came from?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Totally fair, I'll be quick. Would it be better if I called back later this week, say Thursday morning?
“We're not interested.”
→ No problem, I'd rather not waste your time. Can I ask if onchain data isn't a priority right now, or you just haven't looked at other options?
“We already have a provider or build it ourselves.”
→ That makes sense, a lot of teams do. How much of your engineers' time does it take to keep that running, and would a quick comparison be worth 15 minutes?
“Just send me an email.”
→ Happy to. So I send you something useful, what's the one data problem you'd most want solved? Then I'll send it today.
