“Hi [Name], this is [You] from Airwallex. I know I'm calling out of the blue, but do you have 30 seconds to hear why I called? I work with finance teams that pay suppliers or staff in other countries, and I wanted to ask how you handle that today.”
Problems you solve for them
- Bank wires abroad are slow and the fees and exchange rates are hard to see
- Finance teams juggle several banks, cards, and tools to move money
- Paying overseas suppliers and teams is a manual, error-prone job
Discovery questions to ask
- How do you pay suppliers, contractors, or customers outside the US today?
- Roughly how many banks or tools does your team use to move and track money?
- When a foreign payment is slow or costs more than expected, who deals with it?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Totally fair, I'll be quick. Would it be better if I called back tomorrow, and what time works for you?
“We're not interested.”
→ No problem. Out of curiosity, is that because cross-border payments aren't a big part of your business, or because it's already working well?
“We already use a bank or Wise for this.”
→ That makes sense, and lots of our customers did too. What do you like most about it, and is there anything you wish it did better?
“Just send me an email.”
→ Happy to. So I send you something useful, what's the main thing you'd want to see: fees, speed, or how it works with your current tools?
