1Password role-play cheat sheet
For the mock cold call at the end of most SDR interviews.
What they sell, in one line
Password manager and access tools that keep employees' logins, apps and devices secure.
Who you'd be calling
IT managers, security leaders, CIOs and CISOs at small to enterprise companies; also business owners at SMBs.
Your opener
“Hi Morgan, this is Alex from 1Password. I'm calling IT and security folks about how their teams store and share logins. Do you have a minute to tell me how that works at your company?”
Problems you solve for them
- Employees reuse weak passwords or keep them in spreadsheets
- Stolen logins are a common way attackers get in
- IT wastes time on password resets and access requests
Discovery questions to ask
- How do employees store and share passwords today?
- How much time does IT spend on password resets?
- How do you handle access when people join or leave?
Objections they'll throw at you
“I'm busy right now.”
→ Of course. Can I ask one quick question about how your team shares passwords, then you decide if it's worth a longer chat?
“We're not interested.”
→ Fair. Is it because passwords feel solved, or because other projects come first right now?
“We already use something for passwords.”
→ Good, so you value this. Does everyone actually use it, including on phones and for shared logins? I'd be curious how adoption looks.
“Just send me an email.”
→ Happy to. So it's useful, is your bigger concern security risk or helping employees sign in faster?
Competitors worth knowing
Bitwarden, LastPass, Dashlane, Keeper Security
