Opens the job on Toro TMS's own careers site. Some companies ask you to create an account or click through another page first.
What you'd actually do: Cold call trucking carriers and follow up on inbound leads, qualify them, and hand off meetings to Account Executives for Toro's trucking software.
Most people just hit Apply. Do these first and you show up with someone on the inside.
A friendly message to a current rep is the best way to stand out. Ask about their experience, not for a referral.
Trucking runs on pen and paper or software built decades ago, and most carriers are stitching together a half-dozen tools that don't talk to each other. We're replacing all of it.
Toro is a modern, end-to-end TMS built specifically for asset-based carriers — the companies that own the trucks and employ the drivers. Load management, dispatch, driver pay, invoicing: one system. More loads moved. Invoices out the door faster. Drivers paid correctly and on time. This is what it means to run on Toro TMS.
As a Sales Development Representative, you will play a key role as the tip of the spear in our growing sales organization. You will receive training from and work closely with our experienced sales team to become both a product expert and a sales pro. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to build a career in software sales or for anyone who is interested in working in an early stage start-up.
You will be responsible for generating and qualifying new opportunities for our Account Executives to convert into customers. You will create this pipeline using a combination of prospecting tools and techniques, including cold calls and responding to inbound leads. You’ll have the opportunity to master sales skills in a fast-paced environment that supports professional development.
This role is an in-office role; you will be expected to work out of Toro’s downtown Chicago office 5 days a week.
This role is structured as base pay + uncapped commission.
